First of all Happy New Year, I hope you all had a good Christmas and don’t have the January blues like me; I am finding it so hard to get back into work. On the good side at least I am near enough settled in my new home and ready to start sharing some home blogging with you! I have never shared my passion for interior design so this is a new subject, I hope you find it interesting and inspiring.

I wanted to start of by sharing photos of my dinging room. This was the first room finished and still is the only room finished. Most of you would have seen my table on snapchat because I filmed the (five) guys it took to ROLL the table in my house and then filmed it again Christmas day. I had incredible service from the company and so many enquires via snapchat, therefore it was important for me to share the information and final result.

I really wanted a marble table but had no idea where to buy one. I quickly realised it was A. expensive and B. impossible to find a round dining table for eight, let alone a marble dining table. After researching and discovering that circular tables to seat eight are rare due to the balance of the table I thought okay I might as well have one bespoke and why I am at it I will go for the marble. We wanted to spend our wedding money from our family on something significant that we could keep for life, it made sense to buy a marble table.

After days of researching the only company we found worth calling was MARBONYX.COM. Someone answered the phone straight away and invited me down to see the marbles. I explained what I wanted and as soon as I put the phone down I was emailed a table they had made recently and it was exactly what I wanted. I was so impressed with service so far that we decided to drive down there and then. We were living in London at the time but the factory is based in Essex so it was so perfect.

On arrival I was greeted by Andrea, the guy I spoke to on the phone and the owner of MARB ONYX. It’s always nice to see owners talking to the customers and this explained why the service was so amazing. We had Tallulah with us and there were a couple of dogs at the show room so already I loved the place. We we’re shown around the factory and taken to marble slabs. We saw the guys making tables and kitchen surfaces right there, it was so impressive and on a big scale. I felt really lucky to have found this place.

Andrea asked us to pick a few slabs as they are all different. There was a huge machine that lifted out the slabs so we can see it all in the light. I was under pressure to find the perfect slab and made them pull out so many. I really loved the fact we got to choose our own slab, it was really personal and much nicer than ordering online. You can see from the photos how impressive the site is.

We chose ” Calcutta” marble because the veins are bigger and it seemed “the best” marble to have for the look we (I) wanted. It does have some golden veins so I tried to choose one with less gold and more grey. If you would prefer a cheaper marble I would recommend “Carrea” this marble is more white and grey and I chose this for the two other tables I bought from MARB ONYX, I will share photos soon and compare the difference.

We decided to add a Lazy Susanne last minute, this was greta for Christmas and it can be removed from the table. Andrea can make anything you want, kitchen surfaces, bathrooms, flooring or any tables. Click here to visit MARB ONYX.

My chairs took me ages to find, I had a rough idea what I wanted but with so many designs on the market I felt over whelmed. The chairs make the table and show the style. Imagine if I had chosen acrylic chairs or metal chairs or bright blue chairs? The chairs could make or break the final look. Grey was an obvious choice, I am obsessed with press button so I knew kind of what I wanted. The difficult part was finding the shade of grey, a durable fabric and a comfy style. Every time I came close to finding what I wanted the legs would be black or dark wood.

When I came across these chairs I knew straight away that they were perfect. They are huge, so big I was worried they wouldn’t fit; but they were pretty perfect. The fabric is durable, the legs were a perfect shade of grey and the colour was just right. I have moved on into my office/dressignroom. Click here to visit the site, the chairs are now in the sale too!

So many of you have been asking where my cutlery is from. The rose gold cutlery is from Zara but from six years ago so I found these here which are pretty much the same and half what I paid. I bought this cutlery whilst I was living in a tiny flat in Essex and before I met Paris. I said I would only use them when i had my dream home; six years later here I am in my dream home. A huge tip I have for you: buy home bits whilst you still live at home with your parents. When you finally move out it’s so incredibly expensive and you won’t (well most of  you won’t) have the extra money to spend on small things. Plus the small things all add up and it is very expensive. Even if you do have the budget to still buy things when you get your new home I still think it is better to buy beautiful little bits as and when you see them. I had to re buy everything for this new home (as we still have a place in London and left everything there) and some things I bought in a rush and I don’t love them as much as the other things I took my time with. I would rather have no blinds (like now) as opposed to rush and buy what ever I see first. Lastly having a pile of new home bits in the corner of your bedroom will give you that incentive to work hard and save for your dream home.

My wines glasses are from Tesco. I found the initially in Zara for £9 each. I googled the brand and found them in Tesco for £22 for a pack of six! Click here to buy.

My last recommendation is to shop at BHS for all your lighting. I have been buying my home lights here for years and years. They are the cheapest and stock the most beautiful lights. My light reminds me of the Great Gatsby and the 1920s which is my favourite era. Click here to buy.

I have shared photos from my table as Christmas as well as photos from this morning when I was having breakfast. Please click the links in the credits to see where everything was bought from. I know a lot of you have asked me where things are from so I will make sure everything is linked in the next home blogs, or maybe YouTube when I finally build the confidence to start it.

Before Images

Here are the before images. The room looked great before but I really wanted while wooden beams. All my life I have dreamt of my dream home and white beams have always been at the top of my list. I was so scared to take the plunge, I had everyone telling me I was mad and I would ruin them. Paris told me “if you want them white paint them, you have always talked about having white beams so just do it.” He is always there to encourage me and live my dress. I know in this case it was only for white beams but it’s a good example of the support he gives me and it shows if you want to do something you love just do it.
