Nothing comes free

by Claire Chanelle

So who watched “Sex, lies and rinsing guys” on channel 4 last night? Not sure why it was called this. There was no sex and no lies, was quite the opposite.

I would like to have said I was shocked but living in Chelsea with the likes of Mayfair Bar on my doorstep I often witness this going on. I also work in an environment where this happens behind closed doors. To me this is very normal.

From my perspective I am the perfect example of a normal girl from a normal family with a normal job. I have a need for the latest Jimmy Choos and the latest ‘it’ bag but I have a job, I save my money and sometimes I go into my overdraft as you know. Surely these girls would appreciate their Cartier watch and their LV bag if they bought it themselves or was given it by someone they love?? Who knows. Nothing comes free! But everyone makes their own choices and it was definitely entertaining for me and my friends.

What do you think of these girls?

It s amazing what a girl would do for a new pair of shoes. This is not excluding me. I worry myself thinking how I can get hold of that dress that’s sold out, there’s always something. Then there’s the bank charges at the end of the month and lecture from Paris when he looks at my online banking and finds my hidden purchases. But on a serious note this is my passion and I cherish the content of my wardrobe dearly. My overdraft is tiny and I have no credit cards or debt. This is a must for any true, long term shopaholic; you won’t last long if you get yourself in debt. Stay away from credit cards.

The program made me wonder if you want something that bad then just go get it. If you don’t want to work for it, spare the money for it or save for it then you don’t want it enough like me. Maybe they’re not true fashionistas like they say they are? Maybe they are and they’re just lazy? I know enough girls who do this and I also know plenty of stunning girls that refuse this “rinsing activity”.

As for the men!! WTF, dumb divs and more fool them.

I will say I thought Holly Henderson from Liverpool looked good for her age and most pretty girls have a flirt with guys in bars for free drinks. You’ve all seen this everywhere! It’s kind of the same thing just on a different level. I’m sure a lot of girls sitting on their sofas slagged them off but would jump at the chance to get a free Rolex or designer bag. At least the girls were brave enough to admit it and entertained me on a Tuesday night.

Holly Henderson. Not bad for a thirty something.

Danica Thrall from the show.

I’ve seen the show, it was fun to watch. All pretty girls get free drinks, free dinners, free entry to clubs etc. And presents – if the man really loves you he will buy shoes etc. to make you happy because if you are happy, he is happy too. I happen to have lots of gifts from a long term (ex)boyfriend which he bought to make me happy, other things I buy myself. But if someone wants to buy me something I will not say no. 🙂
