If you follow my Instagram (@Iamchouquette) you may remember this look. I intended to get this outfit on here a lot sooner but no matter how hard I try, September always gets the better of me. It’s fashion month, which means lot of distractions and extra content. I even missed the Harrods grotto Santa tickets for the third year in a row. In September Harrods invite black card holders to pre book the grotto tickets, my disorganised self-missed it again; my poor nephew.
I still feel like the weather is more than suitable for a causal jean and a shirt kind of look. It does not matter how old you are or where you are in the world, we can all relate to jeans and a shirt. Am I right?
This is my take on this everyday outfit. I hope you like it.
First up let’s talk shirts. I am a huge lover of shirts, they come in all shapes and sizes and there is something for everyone. The tomboy in me loves to wear over sized, slouchy shirts; I love raiding Paris’ wardrobe. I have listed some fabulous shirts below. One is a baby blue, striped shirts with pearl buttons. I ordered this shirt last night thanks to one of my lovely readers.
One of my readers took the time to send me a long email over the weekend. She shared some of her life with me and told me how much my blog inspires her style. I cannot tell you how much these emails mean to me. They make my day because it reminds me why I do this job. I love to interact with you all so please do not be shy to reach out to me. I also love how much you inspire me. I received a few emails over the weekend, these emails inspire me to write. Now when I am writing my articles and putting looks together I am thinking of the banker who followers me, the head teacher who has a tom boy style and the mum who loves my denim collection. Knowing you makes me want to create content just for you. If you have a request do not be shy to ask me. It is great when I get to know some of you because you are just like me.
Back to the pearl shirt. At the end of the email, this lovely girl linked a shirt that she bought, we have a similar style (she said) so she shared it with me. My gosh, I bought it before I even finished the email! How funny, a follower of mine turned the tables and made me buy clothes. I cannot take credit for this shirt, I would love to thank Claire for this. Love, it we even have the same name.
The shirt I am wearing in this post is from Zara (similar here), I loved the mixture of the girly frills but oversized element “boyd” it up for me. The perfect shirt. I have found a really similar one here. I wore my go to high waisted jeans, which I love and then styled the look with my Gucci belt and my grey felt boots (under £30.) These boots are constantly on my feet, extremely comfy, give me that extra height and go with everything. The perfect day to night shoes.
These Gucci belts are a fab buy. The basic one costs £270 here and the one I wearing cost around £335 here. Considering how wearable they are, the cost per wear is worth it. They are great to wear with jeans, around dresses, knitwear and pretty much any outfit. I think they are a must if you want to transform an outfit and bring it up to date with the latest trends.
I love love love this jacket to the moon and back. I wore this in NYC for fashion week here. I adore this bomber style and I adore swans. Stella Mccartney ready to wear is amazing quality which means the fabric is warm enough to wear in the cold weather. This bomber was pricey but I can wear it from Autumn to Spring and for sure wear it from year to year. It was just one of those items I could not resist.
If you have any questions regarding this look, please leave me a comment in the box below. I appreciate all the emails but I make the replies to the comments a priority because then everyone can see the answer.
