So “Claire Chanelle” – Grey | CHANEL | BALMAIN

A few days a go it was pouring of rain and I thought our summer was over for good. I got straight into jeans and a jacket mode. The summer is nearly over so I wanted to provide you with some Autumn inspiration.

Taking my look back to my roots, the standard Claire Chanelle outfit; Balmain blazer, jeans, tee, CHANEL sport runners and a Chanel bag. Ideally with lots of grey so this outfit it a true “me” style. When ever I need to feel confident or stressed about what to wear this is the daily uniform. I feel good in it because I feel comfortable. The fitted blazer adds a touch of “smart” to my scruffy look. I love nothing more than a baggy tee (the most perfect value pack here) jeans and sneakers.

The CHANEL bag is another added bonus to divert the boyish appearance in me and give that illusion of “I am dressed well.” I feel like a Balmain blazer and a CHANEL bag can save most looks; you have to make a serious error to ruining these key, classic pieces.

I always get asked “what is the most important designer purchase.” My answer will never change. A CHANEL bag, preferably a classic style and a Balmain blazer. My black Balmain blazer was my first ever designer ready to wear purchases and even to this day it is still one of the very few ready to wear items that I will pay a designer price tag for. They fit so well and everyone always comments who how beautiful it is. I love it that it is statement Balmain but there is no branding; just the fit and luxury finish is enough to express B A L M A I N. I now have….. let me count nine BALMAIN jackets, four in this style; white, black, baby pink and grey. I am seriously considering the baby blue one here, I really want one with silver buttons. What do you think? One last one? Who would like to see a BALMAIN collection YouTube video?

This grey colour is by far my ultimate favourite. I have waited years and years for a grey colour to be released. Three years ago they released a grey tweed which I loved but I hated the fact it could only be worn in the winter. If I am spending over £1k on a jacket it needs to be suitable for all seasons. If you like the grey tone I wouldn’t leave it too long tramadolmain.com because once it is sold out it will be gone for good. You can get the black one all year round but you can not get these seasonal colours each season. Also bare in mind that even the black ones change slightly where the fabrics are concerned. Sometimes the fabrics is satin or tweed or jacquard, so be mindful if you see a nice fabric in the black don’t leave it too long because next season they will change the fabric.

I am so in love with the grey, I could wear it everyday. I wear them so much that for me the cost per wear is a no brainer. You can dress them with denim shorts, jeans, flares dresses, dungarees literally anything and it will transform your outfit. I do not work in an officer but I wear them at least once a week. Blazers are not just for the office. If you work in an office environment then please invest in the blazer of your life.

Sizing is pretty true to size. I am a 38 and this jacket is a 38. However my black one is a 36 because I bought it when I was slimmer four years ago and it still fits fine, a bit tight but it’s fine. I also have a size 40 (my white one) because I bought it in a rush and it was the last one. Well it wasn’t a rush as such, basically Paris was in a generous mood (NEVER HAPPENS) and said I could have it. There was only a 40 left and if I waited even five minutes to check on line and buy it else where the chance would have been and gone. This is why I have a 40 but it fits me fine. I had the sides taken in so I can barely notice a difference. The shoulders are every so slightly wider but I can pull it off. You can always tailor a size below or a size below so don’t miss out if you can’t find your exact size. Can anyone else relate to this story?

I paired this jacket with my new fave grey jeans, that fit like a dream. They are not too pricey either. I ordered mine in a size US4, they fit true to size.
