Whilst I was in NYV for fashion week I of course kept my eyes peeled for good places to shop for myself and of course to share with you. I have a soft sport for vintage Chanel (like you didn’t know) and it is always on my shopping list when I have some money in my purse 🙂 but the main reason why I look for vintage and consignment stores abroad is because I can buy what ever is in Neiman Marcus at home where as finding a rare something Chanel with some international story behind it is more appealing to me.  Consignment stores are great because not only do they sell vintage but they will also sell newer pieces that are not quite vintage but maybe are from a past season. They are a great places to find pieces you just missed out on.

I discovered Collette via Instagram (imagine life without insta) before I traveled to NYC, it’s always a nice surprise to stroll into an amazing store but it is also good to research before you go. I met with the press team at Sarabeth’s cafes across the street to find out more about the company. The PR team behind Collette is very good, this is important because I come across some great little store sometimes but the communication is poor which means it is difficult to buy or enquire about items or see what is going on via social media so even though I am back in the UK now I can still follow @collettenyc on Instagram and I can see whats new.

I photographed some of my favourite pieces; a beautiful and rare sequin Chanel bag, a more current Chanel velvet Boy bag, a stunning Chanel jacket and cardigan which I was so close to buying and still lusting over BIG TIME aka the one that got away. Paris agreed to let me have it but then when he saw my NYC bill I was banned from shopping up until two weeks!! You never know it might be mine one day.

I strongly recommended visiting Collette Consignment not only for the Chanel pieces I loved but also to find other brands such as Hermes, Dior, Christian Louboutin and many more.

Collette is located on; 1298 Madison Avenue, (92nd Street), NYC, 212-348-9800 which is the store I visited but they also have a store on; 80 Main Street, Sag Harbor, NY, 631-725-9300 and on; 22 Main Street, Southampton, 631-287-5100. Today is actually the official launch of their new website which looks amazing and very chic, click HERE to check it out and read more.
