This article is for the following three people. People who loves Matcha, People who need caffeine to keep them awake and people who won’t want to spend £4 or what ever that crazy price is to have a Matcha latte at The Good Life in Chelsea. I paid £18 for 113 grams of powder. It is pricey but you need the smallest amount of powder per serving and it still beats £4 a drink.

I used to buy these Matcha lattes nearly everyday but thought surely I can order my own powder and make my own? So I went home and ordered a big bag of Matcha and a small electric mixer.

I now have this home made Matcha every morning. Try it, it really will wake you up and you will feel energised.

Why you should drink matcha powder:

It gives you energy. One serving of Matcha powder is the nutritional equivalent of 10 cups of regular bed green tea. It tastes great (I think) and you can also use the powder for smoothies and baking.

  • Is packed with antioxidants including the powerful EGCg
  • Boosts metabolism and burns calories
  • Detoxifies effectively and naturally
  • Calms the mind and relaxes the body
  • Is rich in fiber, chlorophyll and vitamins
  • Enhances mood and aids in concentration
  • Provides vitamin C, selenium, chromium, zinc and magnesium
  • Prevents disease
  • Lowers cholesterol and blood sugar

You Will Need:

Matcha Powder

Small Electric Mixer

Milk of your choice, I only drink soya

Saucepan, Spoon, Cup and Kettle

STEP 1:

Place a small teaspoon on matcha powder in your cup. You really don’t need much.

STEP 2:

Pour 3/4 of your cup into a pan and heat on a low/medium heat until the milk simmers. I think it taste nicer with more milk but this is down to preference.

STEP 3:

Whilst your milk is simmering nicely, pour 1/4 of your boiling water to the powder in your cup. The water makes the drink really hot and waters down the milk. I don’t like it too milky. Take you electric mixer and mix on the low level.

STEP 4:

Now your powder and hot water has been moved you can pour in your warm milk.

STEP 5:

Enjoy your Matcha Latte with a healthy breakfast, today I chose porridge.
