If you follow me on Instagram and YouTube, you will know that I recently went to Paris with Chloé to celebrate the 10 year anniversary for the perfume collection. If you missed part one of this trip click here, if you didn’t catch the vlog click here.
This is the look I wore for the evening party. I love how “Chloé” this look is with the sheer fabrics, frills and classic Faye backpack but also love how edgy it is. It is certainly not too feminine. I really enjoy to take girl brands and fabrics but make them more masculine simply by adding chunky boots, or maybe an oversize chunky knit or coat. In this case I simply kept the outfit all black which gave it an edgy vibe.
The detail in this top was insane in real life. You pay for the quality and cut when it comes to Chloé ready to wear.
When ever I buy designer ready to wear aka RTW, I make sure it is a piece I can wear over and over and OVER again. For me I would prefer to buy a sensational blouse I love and cherish that will stand the test of time as opposed to a £20-£60 high street blouse. Admittedly I can now afford to buy the ready to wear, but that has not always been the case. I worked hard to shop what I want, and don’t forget I am mid thirties. Even in my mid twenties I could not afford designer ready to wear and when I did it was discounted through my job and I bought the odd piece; usually a jacket. Without a doubt start with investing in designer jacket first as this is the item you can get the most wear out of.
I tend to invest more in tops than dresses, tops I can wear more and I can mix and match with denim, skirt, leather trousers, flares; I can create soooo many different looks from day to night. I could wear this top with baggy jeans and sneakers if I wanted. If it was a dress I am limited to how many times I can wear it.
Buy into quality, no point spending designer price points and it is a man made fabric or fits you terribly or ruins it’s shape/colour after one wash.
Buy a classic colour, like black.
Always choose a top over a dress.
Start of with jackets/outer wear. You can get the most wear.
If you can find the designer piece on the high street, always buy that first. No point wasting your money.
