DRESS – BESPOKE DESIGN BY ME & FRANCESCA COUTURE
This dress is the best dress I have worn (obviously I am not including my wedding gown) and the best dress hanging in my wardrobe. I had this made for my Paris trip because it needed a beautiful location and back drop. Although I shot this dress in Paris I was actually saving it for the CHANEL exhibition launch, this article will be live tomorrow. Although I window shop couture gowns and I have been known to wonder around Harrods evening wear department, simply admiring the fabrics; I am not one to wear such glamorous dresses. Gowns like this also cost within the thousands. I would prefer to spend my money on a bag that I can wear more than once. This doesn’t stop me admiring the design and fabrics. I have always said if I did not go down the styling/blogger route that I took in life, I would without a doubt be designing couture bridal gowns. I am so obsessed with fabrics, beading and french lace. I wanted to wear something special to the CHANEL party. I finally had an excuse to really dress up. I couldn’t find anything I wanted to wear that was under £2000. I knew then I had to contact Francesca Couture. I have known Fran and her brand for over three years. I discovered her back in my younger days when I wore sparkly dresses and went to clubs all weekend. The great thing is, Fran’s brand is changing, coincidentally with my age. Francesca Couture is evolving from a girly, sparkly store to a more mature vibe but still sticking to her ruffled roots, more of the ruffles later. I thought this would be the perfect project for both of us. Stay tuned to see the new launch of Francesca Couture, I can not wait to see the new reveal. I contacted Fran with lot’s of images and a long description of what I wanted. I wanted a long black lace, ruffles, think Givenchy/Valentino but with my own signature stamp and minus the thousand pound price tags. Fran’s vision was on the same page as mine. Fran is all about lace and ruffles and I knew she could re create my vision just how I envisioned and give me that little bit extra. Fran suggested mixing the poker dot lace with the flower print to combine two textures. Fran and her team had two days to get this dress made and shipped to me in time for Paris. As I was walking out the door to catch my Eurostar the package arrived. This dress was made from scratch and shipped all within two days! I had a quick look and was so impressed; the dress was exactly what I asked for. The polkadot lace really made the dress and gave it that edgy look that I wanted to achieve. Together we had created such a fabulous dress and it was so quick and easy. Francesca Couture has her own collections which I would recommend taking a look at their instagram here, but if you are looking for a bespoke design and a talented seamstress, contact Francesca Couture on 0151 2075959. The new store is launching on the 24th of October in Liverpool. If you want to re create my dress just ask for the Chouquette dress. This is going to be one of many collaboration designs with Francesca Couture. My next article will tell you all about the CHANEL party and the exhibition. The following article will be another outfit post wearing this dress but another way. Yes, I actually managed to make this look super casual, I think you will be surprised how I transformed an evening gown to a tomboy casual outfit. I also have a really exciting article to share with you that was another collaboration with Fran and her team of crazily talented seamstresses.
