I am so, so, so excited to finally share my project with Luisa Via Roma. I am excited because everything I wore is out of this world. I fell in love with Florence and can not wait to share all the lovely places we visited and where we stayed but I am also excited to share a project with one of my favourite online stores. I was very excited to see the actual LVR store. I had no idea they even had a store. The store is really big, it’s an overload of designer items, literally like stepping into the website. I will show you all the store photos over the next week.
I have been shopping with LVR for around three years now, way before I started working with them. I first discovered them whilst on a Balmain jacket hunt, yep these things will never changed. For some reason LVR had in stock a jacket that no one else had. I am not sure if this is because they received their order late or because they bought in more stock or maybe it’s because they buy in huge volumes of Balmain stock. My point is LVR is a place to go if you are looking for something sold out. They have THE BEST Balmain collection and this is coming from a total Balmain addict. They stock so many brands and also stock lower price point designer such as Self Portrait and Nike.
Speaking of Balmain, I thought this would be a great start to this project. I have ten looks to share with you over the next two weeks and at the end I will publish a video that I am in the middle of editing. Stay tuned for places to eat in Florence and the best place to stay. I am married to a travel expert and foodie, I promise the recommendations are good.
All the outfits were 100% my choice, the team at LVR let me have free creativity with this project which is why I love the content so much. I had one girl dress me (more of her later) and one of the PR girls Stephanie came on all the shoots with us. I met Stephanie in Dallas at the Reward Style conference in April, she was literally my fave person from the entire conference out of the new people I met. We met up in NYC during fashion week and went to dinner at STK, I was so happy to see her again.
THE LOOK
This jacket is a piece I have been eyeing up for a long time. It was not until I wore it that I realised how much I loved it. I love it because the fit is perfection, there is something about a Balmain piece that is so fabulous. The pieces all fit like a dream, they must have the best pattern cutters in the world. I realised it was so easy to wear, it is great with jeans, black flares, a little black skirt, or even the matching skirt. It totally reminds me of Kris Jenner too. This jacket feels so good in real life, if you order anything from Balmain the quality and fit will not disappoint.
The skirt was another nice surprise. I think this skirt would look beyond amazing with knit wear, imagine this with a baby pink knitted jumper, or a grey/black knit? I would even style it with a white shirt or a denim skirt. The styling options are endless and you are paying for the quality. This skirt sucked me in but it was still really comfortable. This outfit quickly became my favourite outfit which is why I shot it first. It works super well together but you can re wear the pieces seperatley. I paired this look with simple black, strappy Saint Laurent shoes and the JW Anderson “it” bag. These accessories are classic pieces that you can wear with everything. These shoes are simple shoes, shoes you can buy anywhere right? No you are wrong. These shoes are the kind of shoes you have as your go to pair because they go with everything. These shoes need to be comfortable. I can not bare wearing shoes that are so uncomfortable, feel cheap or make a funny noise when I walk. These shoes are not too pricey either, probably the cheapest end of the designer shoe price; therefore a great investment. Do not focus on spending your money on designer shoes that only look like they are expensive/branded, think about the quality, the durability and the comfort because this is what you are paying for. I always invest in my simple, classic accessories and ready to wear.
By the way, the reason I am laughing so much in these photos is because Paris was trying to get the perfect shot (we were loosing natural light) so he was crouching down like a frog but moving side ways like a crab. I really wanted Paris to shoot this project because I feel the most natural with him.
