BEING HEALTHY ON THE GO – My Protein World Recipes & Faves

by Claire Chanelle

If you follow me on instagram you will know I spend far too much of my time complaining that I am hungry or I have had an allergic reaction. Two months ago I decided that it was down to me and me alone to feel better about the way I eat, my daily routines and how I feel. I have also excepted that I alone am responsible for the allergic reactions and intolerances I have.

My first step was to work out what I wanted to eat everyday. I tried the home delivery foods and it was not for me. Twice I had a allergic reaction, I felt like seeds or nuts had contaminated my food. I also was not keep on cooking because it’s not convenient for me when I am busy working and on the go; not to mention how much I travel.

I started researching protein shakes because this seemed the most suitable for my lifestyle. You can make drinks for on the go or at home and I can add my own ingredients.

After asking my Twitter followers to recommend me proteins powders, I tired a few. The brand I liked the most was Protein World. I liked this brand the most for two reasons; 1. the vegan options meant I could avoid dairy, one of my most intolerances. I also loved the other products they sold such as Pancakes, vitamins and snack bars. I ordered a few items, a bit of everything and tried to buy the bundles like this one here.

After a week of using Protein World I was obsessed and felt like a new person. I want to share with you some of my favourite  recipes, show you examples of on the go food, stay at home weekend brunches and all the other things I love.

I feel so great and I wish I had changed up my routine a long time ago. I wanted to share this with you to inspire anyone who like me hates eating out because of allergies/intolerance or maybe you are simply too busy and want some on the go inspo. I haven’t done this to loose weight, for me it has been an added bonus. Protein World is of course protein, less sugar (sometimes no sugar) and the fact I am not missing meals is also making me feel more trim and less bloated.

ON THE GO BREAK FAST

If I am on the go and need to rush out the door I always opt for a protein smoothie. I can throw in what ever I like to ensure it’s different everyday. TOP TIP: Stock up on frozen fruits. If you run out of fresh fruit its your back up and it’s also great to have ultra cold smoothies.

My favourite smoothie:

  • 3 scoops of VEGAN SLENDER BLEND Protein World Powder
  • Ice cubes
  • Coconut milk – half a cup
  • Half an avocado
  • Hald a banana
  • Small handful of blueberries
  • Teaspoon of Protein World coconut oil

This smoothie not only tastes great but it offers a morning boost and the ingredients are great attributes to for my skin. Blueberries and avocado are great for the skin.

If I am rushing out the door I will put this in one of my Protein World flasks.

I tend to stick to the Vegan powder as it contains no dairy. However no and then I have the normal one and it does not seem to affect me. The same goes for the pancake and porridge mix. These both contain lactose but the amount is small and as long as I don’t eat them every single day (I eat  the vegan mixed 80% of the time) it seems to be fine for me.

Stay AT Home Breakfast

Breakfast is my favourite meal, therefore I am so happy I am back into a breakfast routine. When I am working from home Paris and I always have a nice breakfast together. Usually he cooks but the Protein World pancakes are so quick an easy that even I can do it.

I have two favourites, I could not pick one. I actually have three and thats the Protein World porridge oats in vanilla and chocolate as well as the Protein World pancakes.

I can not even put into words how good the pancake mix is! I LOVE pancakes, I love the fluffy American style but cannot stomach them. I attempted healthy pancakes but they tastes terrible, so bad that I thought the Protein World ones would too taste powdery or lumpy. You have my word these pancakes are divine. Some times I have them plain with the Protein World syrup and sometimes I add fruits. The mix is all ready to go, you just add water or your choice of milk.

I love porridge and I eat it nearly everyday. Normal porridge is good for you but the Protein World porridge feels really light. I am addicted to the chocolate flavour because I have a sweet tooth. I used to add chocolate spreads to my normal porridge which was extremely unhealthy, this is my new sweet solution. I like to add bananas, frozen blueberries and coconut flakes. It also tastes great plain with the syrup. You can but a pancake bundle here.

Healthy On The Go Snacks

If you are allergic to nuts like me you will understand the sheer awkwardness of trying to find protein bars, or healthy bars that do not contain nuts. It is impossible!

The Protein World slender bars are a life saver for me. Not only are they nut free they are also gluten free. I love all of the flavours but I think my favourite is the dark chocolate and coconut. I keep these in every single one of my handbags, this way I have a healthy snack at all times.

Coconut Oil

The one product you need to add to your basket is the Protein World organic coconut oil. I bought this to use on my hair but then soon started finding other uses for it. For just £4 you can really get great worth out of this product.

  • HAIR OIL
  • USE FOR COOKING/SMOOTHIES
  • NAIL CUTICAL NOURISHER
  • (MY FAVE) USE AS A SKIN MOISTURISER BEFORE YOU FAKE TAN. The extra oil makes my tan glide on and smell amazing.
