If you follow my Instagram you will know I have just spent the last twelve days in Mauritius. I have been over working the last few months, running a blog is a full time job when you start collaborating with brands and have to meet deadlines. Then of course I have Chelsea Styling and which is very full on and stressful. I also wanted to share with you I no longer work at Harrods; after five years as a Fashion Specialist I have finally decided to leave because my blog and business demands so much of my time (all my time) and Harrods was just too much. I learnt so much working at Harrods and that place has made me thicker skinned than a rhino! Just before Christmas I was in hospital which made me realise I was pushing myself way too hard and I needed a nice relaxing holiday to start 2014. Paris also starts a new job next week, I am very proud of him and he too deserved a nice holiday.
We were choosing between India (been before and l loved it) Sri Lanka, Mauritius and Barbados. I was so pleased we chose Mauritius the place is beyond beautiful with clear waters and the most perfect weather. We stayed at Centara in the East the first few days and then we spent the final week at Paradise Cove in the north. I defiantly recommend the north the water and beach is perfection there and less wind, however a bit of wind is nice because it is so hot. Paradise Cove hotel is literally paradise, the grounds and pools are breath taking and perfect for couples as there are lost of private huts hanging off the rocks into the sea. The atmosphere is so romantic, I think we were the only couple not on our honey moon.
Paris bought me this one piece from Agent Provocateur for my birthday last year. These kind of bikinis are not the best for tanning but they are great for photos or pool parties in Marbella or Ibiza. I found this one piece really flattering as I have a little belly and I think it hides it a bit, its also really comfortable.
The sunglasses are by Illesteva and I discovered them on Instagram believe it or not. I was searching for some huge black sunglasses and love the mirror effect so they were just what I was looking for. Illesteva are really good prices and good quality and this will not be my last pair, I absolutely love them.
My shorts are my summer/holiday must have! They are pure perfection; comfortable, perfect wash, perfect shape and look amazing. I love them so much I feel I should buy another pair just in case I loose these ones.
I forgot a beach bag …….. ok total lie I did not forget a bag at all the truth is I bought a very over priced beach bag (any guesses where from?) which I had hidden for a few weeks. My plan was to get in the taxi first then at the airport Paris was see my new bag but it would be too late and I would keep it. I got scared last minute and had visions of him thrown the bag in the bin at the airport (he would do this) so I made sure Paris saw me walking to the taxi… OMG he went ballistic! I immediately ran upstairs and put the bag safely in its its box where it still is now and not sure of its destiny that lies a head. I grabbed the first bag I saw which was the stella and it done a good job. I will keep you updated on this one.
All week I will be uploaded posts about Mauritius, what I wore by the pool and the trips I went on. For now its back to work, 200 emails to catch up on, and fashion week organising 🙁 Does anyone have any holidays booked this year?
