I am so excited to share my NYFW trip with you! I am so sorry I didn’t get this up sooner but I went straight into LFW on no sleep from my night flight then I was in Italy. But I am here now.

This was my look for the first day in NYC. For those of you that do not know, I was attending NYFW with E! Entertainment as I was styling the UK & Ireland host Sabrina Chakici. This was a super exciting project for me because I got to attend fashion week like no other fashion week that I have done before. The projects we had to do and the events we attended were not apart of your average fashion week schedule. This meant that this was a unique fashion week for me, I knew no one else from the UK would be doing what we were doing and it was so exciting. I got to see the other side to fashion week, mostly the TV side. I was so grateful for the oppountity and it was a real pinch me moment. I wanted to share this with you because I want you to read this and realise anything is possible if you set your mind to it. Over ten years ago I decided I wanted to be a stylist and I didn’t give up on my dream. I have achieved so many great styling roles over the years but even ten years down the line I am still hitting my goals. Working with E! was literally one of my dreams so this trip was a real career cloud 9 moment for me. Set your goals and do NOT give up on them.

Day 1 for us was a day at the main fashion hub Moynihan Station, which is the equvilant to the London Brewery Car Park where LFW now is. Lets not talk about that location…. ever. So the NYFW shows are scattered all over NYC but the Moynihan Station is where lot’s of shows are hosted and where the “Fashion Police” had their pop up studio.

We arrived at the E! lounge backstage at 9:30am, we arrived greeted with coffee that had our faces on, yes I mean what a great start to the day. We then had our hair blow dried at the Tresemme hair station. We then watched the Fashion Police film their NYFW episode whilst we waited for Sabrina to get to work. During the wait we got to watch the show and join in the clapping and laughing that you hear on the show. This was so surreal for me because I watch this show all the time. Every time I watch the show from now on I will remember this day.

The first day was all about Sabrina working with the E! My job was to dress her for the day and be there for when she needed me with any of the styling. Whilst Sabrina worked I hung out with NeNe Leak’s make up artist Keita Moore and Giuliana Rancic’s make up artist Daniel Deleno who were so much fun. Usually as a stylist I would dress more causal for a location job, maybe jeans, a leather jacket and a top knot hair style but we had a shoot to do after the filming and I was also attending shows as and when I could squeeze them in. A lot of preparation went into this trip as I had to dress Sabrina for the E! events and also dress myself for the shows I was attending and of course I street style shoots for LOOK. What I Wore

I chose a statement red Givenchy suit from Net A Porter. I love this shade of red with the orange tone. The fit was perfect and I thought it would be a great statement look that would also work well with the rest of my wardrobe. A classic red blazer will be such a staple piece and it would look great with leather trousers, jeans or a denim skirt. The red trousers are also easy to wear, I thought they would look good with a rock tee or a plain grey tee. I teamed the bright look with subtle accessories but added the silver choker for a little personality. I never like to keep to classic.

I dressed Sabrina in a Peter Pilotto dress. I knew she would be filming so the detail around the neck has to be a focus and Sabrina never likes to dress in all black for filming. This dress flattered her body and it a statement look without being too over the top. We paired the dress with velvet open toe shoes as velvet is a great fabric for Autumn/Winter. The black bag was ideal for this trip because it matched every single outfit we both wore.

This look was featured in our LOOK magazine feature which is out this week (page 14) did anyone see it? This trip was also in collaboration with LOOK magazine, Sabrina and I were spotting trends and shared with the LOOK readers what it was like to attend fashion week as a stylist and as a host. We took over their social media platforms for the weekend.

Stay tuned this week as I will be sharing more of our NYC adventure, more looks and plenty of stories, we really did so much in such little time.
